Whether you are renovating your current home or building a new home, the perfectly selected and installed stone countertops can significantly enhance the home’s beauty and, ultimately, increase the overall value of your home.
Countertops and backsplashes can lead the way in your home’s overall style so it’s important to ensure you choose the right materials and choose a stone countertop fabricator and installer that will provide the highest level of service, accuracy, and quality for the job.
True Blue Surfaces offers a signature five-step process to ensure your countertop installation is seamless, on time, and within budget. Let’s explore each step so you know what to expect during the process from start to finish.
Step 1: Measure Layout for a Rough Estimate
This is where your vision begins. We’ll start by understanding more about the space. We’ll sketch out a preliminary layout with estimated measurements you provide for a quick estimate of square footage required and identify any special needs you might have.
With this information, we will provide an initial estimate enabling you to have a general budget for the project based on the material you are considering. This will help you to narrow down to the right type of stone and allows True Blue to provide an overview of the time and costs that will be involved.
Step 2: Select the Stone for Your Countertop Design
Time to select your materials! It’s important to understand the way your family uses the space to know which type of stone surface will serve you best depending on care and maintenance preferences, usage of the countertops, style and design preferences, and more.
When you visit our designer showroom, you’ll be able to see samples as well as walk the slab yard. By being able to see the slabs in person, view engineered and exotic stone samples, and get ideas from our gallery of completed countertop projects, you’ll have a good idea of the types of material available to you.
Our design team will help you to choose your color and materials, your edge profile, sinks, and any other details needed to prepare the proposal and final estimate.
Step 3: Approve Your Digital Template and Estimate
Now it’s time to get a precise measurement of your space. One of our template specialists will visit your home to get all the detailed measurements, create a digital template, and confirm final custom selections and specifications using Slabsmith digital imaging technology.
Once the digital template is created, you will have the opportunity to review and approve the overall layout before we begin fabrication. The Slabsmith digital template will show you exactly what your countertops will look like with extreme accuracy—the digital slab is dimensionally accurate to a millimeter or less. You’ll be able to see where the seams (if any) should be placed to achieve the best possible look and flow.
Step 4: Fabricate the Stone with Precision
We fabricate your stone to precision using our state-of-the-art technology in our fabrication facility. The saw and water-jet machines use the digital template to cut the slab exactly as it was laid out in the digital template and high-resolution images provided. (Take a look at the Optimus Robotic Sawjet in action!) After the pieces are cut, they are transferred to a Titan CNC polishing machine to shine the edges with the edge profile you selected. One of our highly qualified hand fabricators will then inspect and finish the slab to perfection.
Step 5: Install, Polish, and Seal the Stone Countertops
Within 5 days of the digital template and estimate approval, your countertops will be carefully transported and installed by a team of our certified installation experts. We take extra care to hide the seams and attach the sinks to counters using a special stone epoxy. We drill any necessary faucet holes, shine the countertops and surfaces, and seal them for protection and longevity. Our service rep will also share tips for countertop care to maintain the beauty of your new stone surfaces.
